Electric Outside Utility Construction Operations Manager
The Electric Construction Operations Manager is a management role responsible for the work of various Electric Construction crews from start to finish. The position works across multiple projects and teams to ensure on-time and on-budget execution. The Electric Construction Operations Manager will also have the responsibility for maintaining company, client and government safety regulations. This position is based in our King of Prussia, PA office and serves the greater Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC areas and Northeast.
What Do You Offer Us?
Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, material/equipment requisitions, work orders, and budgets related to Electric Construction projects
Communicate regularly with customers, internal stakeholder resources, and management on execution results and variances
Review data and reports from the field and consolidate information into reports for management; conduct regular status reports to management and customers
Review and approve final reports prepared by the data processing team
Develop and coach employees’ performance throughout the year to facilitate achievement of goals
Visit crews and monitor their safety, quality, & production
Accountable for equipment utilization, damage, maintenance and repair
Get feedback from owner on quality, safety, schedule, materials etc.
Attend all required project meetings with Owner
Generate list of required personnel & equipment
Generate initial list of required tooling
Attend pre-construction meeting with BU
Review and become familiar with contracts
Coordinate the securing of yard or show-up and receiving material
Develop and monitor execution plans
Assist with updating schedules and/or progress reports
Verify that as-builts & progress charts are maintained
Arrange and/or participate in various meetings relevant to the business
Accountable for cost, progress and schedule for duration of project
Generate and/or review/sign superintendent’s reports, daily time sheets, daily job briefings, pay raise request, summary of expenditures, billings to Owner, etc.
Responsible to make changes to people or equipment, on the job, if conditions warrant
Monitor units completed versus proposed or bid
Assist BU with monthly forecast
Accountable for compliance with safety program and review all accidents
Follow up on any complaints (from owner, general public, or landowners)
support negotiating any changes to scope of work and required additional pricing
Review and monitor project reports (such as labor/equipment cost, fuel, etc.)
Coordinate personnel & equipment transfers from project
Evaluate bid opportunities for business unit; If the potential work fits business unit, review scope of work and Plan-Profile documents
If required, secure quotes from subcontractors and/or material vendors from area
Assist with all required support documents to accompany bid; (Including but not limited to the following: Construction Plan, Schedules and Licenses)

What is Required?
Electrical Lineman
Preferred 3 to 5 years of management experience in Electric Outside Utility Construction
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Maintain knowledge of new regulations, industry trends and technologies
Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, with more frequent, local travel throughout the greater Philadelphia
May be required to relocate as work requirements demand
May be required to hold a valid class “B” commercial driver’s license
May be required to read and interpret blueprints
Drives and operates conveyance machinery equipped with tools and materials to job site
Adheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies
May work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems
May attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training
Works with limited supervision
Lifting and handling materials up to 60 pounds unassisted
Walking and working across uneven terrain
Climbing on and off large trucks and equipment
Exposure to hot and cold weather conditions
This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
