Job Summary:
About the Role & Program
The Lucasfilm live action Development team leads all aspects of the development and management of story across live-action feature films and streaming television series. The group's focus is on developing projects for film and series production, identifying and working with above-the-line writers and directors to implement said projects, and seeing projects through production, post-production, distribution, marketing, and franchise extensions. Interns will have an invaluable opportunity to interact with execs in our department!
What You Will Do
Lucasfilm is currently seeking motivated, meticulous, and trustworthy interns for its Story Group Intern. They could include but not limited to:
- Reading and evaluating incoming writing samples
- Assisting with light organizational work to ensure the logging of materials is consistent across the entire live action slate.
- Completing individual research projects as needed
- Learning to write coverage for both writer and director materials
- Collaborating with the team in organizing incoming external materials
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent written communication skills required; including writing, fact-checking and proofreading
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities
- Strong time management with the ability to seamlessly multi-task and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
- A Proven track record working autonomously and in team settings with a positive, pro-active demeanor
- Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- An interest in film or series development, screenwriting, or trans-media creation,
- Demonstrated creative sensibility
- Knowledge and appreciation of the Star Wars galaxy, including the films, animated series, games, and books, is a plus
Required Education
Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Screenwriting , Media or related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024- August 2024.
- Must provide own housing during the internship in the Burbank, CA area
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
