Job description
Position Overview: The Machinist will be responsible for the production of parts and components to exacting tolerances using cutting tools and machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up and programming CNC machines, reading blueprints and sketches, and performing calculations to determine the correct dimensions of the finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and understand blueprints, sketches, and manufacturing instructions.
- Calculate dimensions of finished products and set up the machines accordingly.
- Set up and operate CNC machines.
- Select and use appropriate cutting tools.
- Perform periodic checks and maintenance of machines.
- Monitor the progress of jobs and adjust settings as required.
- Troubleshoot and repair any machine related problems.
- Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or higher.
- 2+ years of experience as a Machinist in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in the use of machine tools (lathes, mills, boring mills, grinders, etc.) and cutting tools.
- Good understanding of drawings, sketches, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with CNC machines and related programming.
- Ability to measure accurately using calipers.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
