Director of Technology

Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor degree preferred in business administration, computer science, educational technology or related discipline.

  2. Working knowledge of wired and wireless networking, device fleet management, printer fleet management, physical security systems, cybersecurity systems, student information systems, learning management systems, IP phone systems, helpdesk systems, Google Workspace.

  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff with varying levels of technical ability.

  4. Vision for future technologies impacting PreK-12 education and their integration.

Length of Contract and Hours: The Director of Technology will work a 260-day contract at 40 hours per week.

Immediate Supervisor: District Superintendent

General Job Description: The Director of Technology is responsible for ensuring all district systems function properly and efficiently. This is accomplished by maintaining solid relationships with key partners who support some of our systems, hands-on work, and delegating responsibilities to other district staff members. The Director also is responsible for technology purchasing, planning and managing projects.

Specific Job Functions:

  1. Network systems administration which includes working with Microsoft domain controllers and the Aruba wireless controller.

  2. Google Workspace administration.

  3. ClassLink/OneSync administration which includes integration with Active Directory and Google.

  4. Apple School Manager administration including app acquisition.

  5. Genetec physical security system administration including access control and video cameras.

  6. ContentKeeper web content filtering administration.

  7. Avaya phone system administration which includes assigning/re-assigning phone extensions, button programming for sidecars and more.

  8. Helpspot helpdesk system administration which includes ticket screening and assignment.

  9. PaperCut administration.

  10. E-Rate administration which includes working with a coordinator at ESU 5.

  11. Onboarding/offboarding employees and students which includes the provisioning of devices.

  12. Summer tech crew management.

  13. Hardware inventory management.

  14. Printer fleet management.

  15. MacBook provisioning for high school students which often includes restoring MacBooks and/or updating them.

  16. Technology ordering.

  17. AppleCare claims management including creating claims, prepping devices for shipment, dropping off devices for shipment, receiving and cataloging replacement devices, tracking claims.
