Position Description Pay Grade: Coordinator 10
This position is responsible for coordinating non-credit course scheduling, instructor supervision, and contract management within the Information Technology Division for Workforce Continuing Education. The role encompasses various Wake County locations, including online instructional delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.
*Recruits, interviews, hires, supervises, trains, and mentors instructors
*Coordinates course schedules, locations, and non-credit instructors to optimize program operations
*Drafts, submits, and modifies contracts to ensure timely processing of instructor payroll
*Evaluates and enhances instructional delivery, including syllabi, student feedback, classroom observations, lesson plans, and the use of technology tools like Microsoft Teams and Blackboard for both online and in-person courses
*Ensures accurate and timely completion and submission of college records
Provides backup support to other Coordinators, as needed
Attends weekly department meetings
Conducts monthly instructor meetings
Occasionally teaches courses, as required
Assists in setting course goals, objectives, and the selection of instructional materials
Collaborates with internal and external college stakeholders in support of established goals, ensuring the timely completion of activities, including agreed-upon deliverables
Assists in creating, developing, customizing, and maintaining non-credit IT courses in collaboration with stakeholders and instructors
Contributes to community and employer outreach and maintain relationships
Serves on college or department committees, as needed
Participates in available professional development opportunities.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, hiring, and effectively managing instructors.
Strong proficiency in assessing and improving instructional delivery methods, including in online course delivery
Familiarity with curriculum and training design principles, teaching methods, and training effects measurement
Proficiency in using technology and software, including but not limited to Blackboard, computers, MS Office, MS Teams, and web-based tools
Effective project management skills and resource coordination abilities
Efficient organization of course schedules and locations to maximize program efficiency and teaching quality
Accurate record-keeping skills, including meeting established deadlines
Effective management and processing of course section contracts
Proficiency in designing, customizing, and overseeing IT-related courses
Strong collaboration skills for cultivating positive relationships with colleagues
Proven ability to build relationships with external stakeholders, contributing to effective program outreach
Dedication to continuous improvement through ongoing professional development
Requirements : AAssociate's degree
Two years of relevant teaching experience
At least one year of relevant work experience in various IT-related fields, including areas such as business analytics, cybersecurity, computer hardware/software repair, programming, database management, networking technology, web design, as well as emerging topics like artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technology, cloud computing, big data analytics, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), quantum computing, 5G technology, or robotics
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
One year of experience in leading or supervising people or projects
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including day and evening shifts, various Wake County locations, and occasional Saturday hours
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferences : An up-to-date technology certification in one or more IT-related areas
