Job description
Summary
Provide comprehensive developmental programs for preschool populations; provide periodic developmental assessment for preschool ages,
and provide model/demonstration services such as parent consultation, quality child care; provide leadership to
teaching teams in a preschool setting.
Duties Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach the students
Observe each student to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
Encourage students to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
Guide the students to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, or colors, do crafts etc.)
Supervise the students to ensure that they are safe at all times.
Track the student's progress and report to parents
Communicate with parents regularly, using Core Advantage to understand the student's background and psyche
Collaborate with other educators
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards required by State of NJ
Requirements Complete Background Check and Health Examination
High School Diploma /GED or Associates Degree (Recommended)
Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
Ability to work a shift in between 6:00 am - 6:00 pm that changes weekly
Reliable transportation to the Child Care center
Able to lift up to 35 pounds
Nice To Haves Familiarity with State of NJ safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as mediator between children
Cool-tempered, patient, friendly and reliable
Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
