Are you passionate about empowering educators and fostering a supportive learning environment? We're seeking a dedicated Teacher Support Specialist to join our team and make a difference in the professional development and success of our teachers. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in supporting the transition of new and beginning teachers into our district, ensuring they thrive both personally and professionally. Key Responsibilities: Provide Comprehensive Support: Offer guidance and assistance to various categories of employees, including beginning teachers, alternative licensure teachers, and those new to the district. Your aim is to facilitate their seamless integration into the district and, more specifically, into the classroom environment. Design and Deliver Professional Learning: Develop and implement tailored professional development programs for all district teachers, with a focus on those who may require additional support. Your expertise will help enhance teaching methodologies and foster continuous improvement among educators. Collaborate for Compliance: Work closely with various stakeholders, including academic departments, human resources, school administrators, and mentor coordinators, to ensure adherence to state, federal, and local Beginning Teacher Support Program requirements. Your coordination efforts will ensure systemic compliance and effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Possess considerable knowledge of educational programs and licensure requirements. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and coaching methodologies. Exhibit critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills. Education and Experience: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field, along with four years of teaching experience in a public school setting. Previous experience in planning and delivering professional development is desirable. Certification and License Requirements: Must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator's License. Valid motor vehicle operator's license required. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Credentials: A Master's degree in Education or School Administration is preferred. Experience in mentorship or instructional facilitation roles is advantageous.Job tags
