Job description

As a Digital & Media Meteorologist at HailTrace, you will play a crucial role in connecting our weather forecasts with the online community and turning interest into financial opportunity through advertising and service subscriptions. This position requires a combination of meteorological expertise, social media savvy, and creativity. You will be responsible for engaging our audience across various social media platforms, creating captivating content, and utilizing your meteorological knowledge to keep our followers informed about current and upcoming weather events. Schedule: Weekends as needed, Nights as needed, Monday - Friday Benefits: • Bonus Pay • End-of-year profit share bonus • 401 K • 401 K Match • Health Insurance  • Dental Insurance • Vision Insurance • Paid Time Off • Paid Gym Membership • Cell Phone Reimbursement Responsibilities: • WSI Expertise: Utilize advanced Weather Services International (WSI Max) tools for accurate weather forecasting and analysis. • Social Media Management: Manage and curate content on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to engage and grow our audience. • Live Severe Storm Tracking: Monitor and report on severe weather events in real-time, providing live updates to our audience. • Graphic Design: Create visually appealing and informative graphics to convey weather information, helping to build a strong and loyal following. • Audience Interaction: Respond to audience inquiries, comments, and messages, fostering a sense of community and trust. • Mobile App Management: Oversee and manage the meteorological content on our mobile app to ensure a seamless and informative user experience. • Long Hours During Severe Weather: Be prepared to work extended hours during times of active severe weather to provide timely updates to our audience. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or a related field. • Proven experience in meteorology and familiarity with advanced forecasting tools, particularly WSI. • Strong proficiency in social media platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. • Exceptional map reading skills and the ability to communicate complex meteorological information in an accessible manner. • Experience in live severe storm tracking and reporting. • Graphic design skills for creating engaging and informative content. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. • Willingness to work long hours during periods of active severe weather.
