The Accounting Manager, Food Production Facilities will be responsible for managing all accounting activities associated with cost of goods sold and the Central Kitchens, which are food production facilities for certain food and beverage items. They will also be responsible for developing and coaching an in-house accounting team of 2 (currently 1 Sr. Cost Accountant and 1 AP Specialist). The Accounting Manager will be instrumental in structuring their team and accounting processes to successfully handle a rapidly growing brand of 130 locations and counting!

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage certain day-to-day accounting activities related to COGS for all restaurant locations as well as the Central Kitchens.
• Develop and maintain a documented system of policies and procedures related to COGS accounting
• Improve and streamline accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness of weekly and monthly COGS reporting
• Responsible for maintaining accurate costs of finished goods inventory
• Implement a process of auditing contract pricing of inventory suppliers
• Develop management reporting to help analyze price changes and their impact on overall business results
• Work closely with senior management to enhance P&L reporting around Central Kitchens (i.e. labor, COGS, operating expenses, etc.)
• Oversee accounts receivable of 3rd party distributor
• Provide thought leadership as it relates to system implementations (upgrade of Central Kitchen ERP platform)
• Responsible for completion and review of certain balance sheet reconciliations, including inventory and AR
• Prepare flux analysis of trends and variances to run rate, budget, and forecast

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification a plus
• Workday Financials and SAP experience a plus
• 5+ years of experience in accounting
• Proven ability to lead, team-build, and develop others effectively
• Accounting experience in manufacturing industry preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to collaborate with individuals across all functions and at all levels of the organization
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Travel to the greater Phoenix area required
