Job description

The Assistant/Associate Director of Inclusion and Engagement in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences (CLAHS) develops structures and supports to build a climate of inclusion and belonging for students. This position is housed in the CLAHS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office and reports to the Assistant Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in CLAHS. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of activities designed to achieve college-level goals related to student inclusion, belonging, and retention, with a particular focus on underrepresented and underserved students, and will utilize proven strategies to enhance academic success and belonging for diverse student populations.

Required Qualifications Preferred Qualifications The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences (CLAHS) at Virginia Tech combines the wide-ranging intellectual exploration of the liberal arts with the technological advantages of a leading university and the civic engagement of a land-grant institution. CLAHS' 13 departments and schools offer 42 distinct majors in humanities and social science disciplines, as well as programs in Africana Studies, American Indian Studies, Disability Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies. We serve 4200 undergraduate students, of whom over 40% are from underrepresented or underserved backgrounds. More details about CLAHS priorities and goals can be found in the strategic plan .
