Job Overview

Northstar House is looking for a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.  We are a Fall Creek neighborhood restaurant specializing in farm to table, gluten free and vegan fare.
Successful candidates will have at least three years of experience as a sous chef or higher, with two or more kitchens.  This position will be responsible for the day to day operations of the kitchen, including inventory, quality control, special creation, as well as acting as team leader during service.  Creativity, attention to detail, positive attitude, and the ability to work independently are essential to this position.  Farm to table experience is preferred, as we work directly with many local farms.  Some experience cooking gluten free and vegan food is also preferred.
Our menu changes with the seasons and local availability of ingredients, additionally we host many private parties and catering events.  It is a fast paced environment, and the workload can change from week to week. Everyone washes dishes from time to time, even the Owners and the Chef.  We work hard to maintain a respectful and positive environment in all aspects of our business, and we are looking for someone who will help us ensure that Northstar remains a positive place to work and visit.
