Description:

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards.

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, and machining parameters; interpreting Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances (GD&T)

• Set-up and program CNC horizontal routers/mills by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, collets and stops; indicating vises and dials; tramming heads

• Review schedules and ensure necessary items (fixtures, drill bits, end mills) for upcoming jobs are on hand

• Deburr parts, clean and maintain machines and work areas

• Document actions by completing production, quality logs, and work orders as necessary

• Detect and troubleshoot equipment malfunction, providing minor preventative maintenance as required when applicable

• Maintain specifications requirements by observing drilling, grooving, cutting, facing and thread chasing operations; taking measurements with precision measuring tools; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Working knowledge of relevant manufacturing standards, blueprints, technical drawings, quality assurance requirements and aerospace standards

• Proficiency in machine controls (preferably Fanuc & Haas)

• Minimum of 3 years of precision machining experience (composite preferred)
