Job description
Single location cooperative in Iowa is seeking an Operations Manager to lead their Agronomy, Feed and Grain businesses. They are a smaller tight-knight group with a very loyal customer base and a fantastic board of directors. The cooperative boasts top-notch facilities. They have recently spent considerable capital building new infrastructure as well as updated existing facilities. The company prides themselves on excellent customer service and doing business with the "farmer touch."
Although the position oversees all three departments, the ideal candidate will be strong in Agronomy. This position will report directly to the GM and will have the opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of how a cooperative operates. You would have the opportunity to learn grain merchandising, balance sheets and HR.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in operations and people management. You must be willing to wear many hats, and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Labor is regularly shared between departments during each respective busy season.
This could be a great opportunity for someone early in their career to take a step up and learn how to run a business. It could also be a fit for someone with more experience that is tired of the bureaucracy and politics of a larger company.
Compensation is commensurate on experience and skillset. 80-110k base with profit sharing, cell phone stipend, full benefit package and truck for company use.
