Associate Recovery Specialists investigate loss or damage to PGE property that occurs within the distribution system and ensures cost recovery and/or mitigation. This position is primarily spent in the field conducting damage claim investigations.
Key Responsibilities
Specialization
Typically specializes in field investigations or recovery claims but may perform work in both areas. Independently conducts detailed and complex investigations of incidents involving PGE equipment or personnel, including those that occur after hours. Develops and implements investigation plan. Determines which information is needed. Interviews witnesses, takes photographs and gathers and reviews data from multiple sources. Prepares investigatory reports. Enters claims information into appropriate tracking system.
Claims
Gathers claim information from multiple sources and prioritizes work. Performs field checks to verify mitigation is complete and determines when work meets specifications. Gathers information via interviews, reports and through other departments to determine billing. Creates work orders as needed. Builds claims packets to include all relevant information needed and collaborates with Legal to ensure claims are processed appropriately. Evaluates complex and escalated claims and determines appropriate action.
Legal Collaboration
Gathers evidence for hearings, trials or depositions through organizing field photographs and taking phone statements or interviews from claimants, witnesses, and company employees. Determines which evidence is relevant and prepares for Legal.
Compliance
Ensures documentation meets all regulatory and compliance requirements. Researches and analyzes regulations, requirements and standards related to claims or investigations, and determines applicability. Documents and maintains written procedures and modifies to reduce risk. Ensures alignment with corporate compliance objectives and processes.
Consultation
Identifies knowledge gaps or needs within the department and provides information and consultation to managers and employees. Provides support to projects and initiatives and may manage team projects.
Research
Analyzes updates in regulation and industry practices and identifies application to risk mitigation and compliance.
Education/Experience/Certifications
Education
Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience
Typically, two or more years investigating and evaluating property damage claims e.g., field investigating, fraud investigation) or equivalent combination of customer service, risk management experience or other utility knowledge.
Certifications
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) a plus
Oregon Casualty Adjusters License a plus

Compensation Range:
$72,900.00 - $121,500.00In addition, this position is eligible for a performance-based incentive bonus. Actual total compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education
