Description:
The CAD Technician will work within our Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Global Practice to perform the following duties:
-CAD Drafting for civil and structural engineering projects including site and road designs, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, water and sanitary sewer designs, sediment and erosion control layouts, steel detailing and reinforced concrete designs.
-Develop drawings for production work including layouts on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
-Execute variety of civil and structural CAD assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation and refining rough sketches.
-Execute CAD changes to designs or sketches and mark-ups on ongoing projects.
-Responsible for incorporating client CAD standards related to design requirements.
-Perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks. Design will be prepared using proper engineering standards and procedures.
-Responsible for revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information storage in a logical and well-structured manner.
-All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
-Associate degree in drafting technology or related field and zero to two years related experience or no degree and two years progressive detailing and design experience.
-Experience design software such as: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, CADWorx, Plant 3D, Revit and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
-Previous experience with GIS software is a plus.
-Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
-Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
