Job description
Position Purpose
The Water Technologies and Solutions, Analytical Instruments product line business has an opportunity for a Production and Engineering Manager in Boulder CO.
This position has the overall responsibility for the production and engineering of the Laboratory (Lab) and Vial Wash Line (VWL) business lines. This position will lead all Lab and VWL manufacturing, including raw material testing, stock solution preparation, chemical filling / QC testing / visual inspection / packaging, vial washing / QC testing / packaging. This position will also manage the manufacturing engineers and automation engineers supporting the Lab and VWL business lines. This position will direct engineering activities to improve the manufacturing operations through design, operating rate / efficiency improvements, scrap reduction, ergonomic improvements, and equipment improvements and automation. This position will ensure maximal quality of our products, with tracking of quality performance as well as compliance with all requirements of the site ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AND ISO 17034 certifications, in collaboration with the Analytical Instruments Quality department. This position will also coordinate the local installation, set-up, and overall readiness of new products (NPI - New Product Introduction) through close collaboration with the Analytical Instruments Technology team. This position will also ensure technical help is provided to our overseas production sites. This role will be a key member of our Supply Chain team, reporting directly to the Analytical Instruments Global Supply Chain Leader.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development of team members ensuring positive and effective cooperation with cross-functional team members to ensure business objectives around safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and new product development are met.
- Analyzes production trends, quality trends, customer demand, capacity needs, and human resource needs to plan department activities.
- Forecasts operating costs of the department and directs preparation of budget.
- Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or interdepartmental relations.
- Directs department activities to design equipment needed to improve production.
- Lead capital expenditure and continuous improvement / Lean projects.
- Confers with management, production, and sales staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and production capability for new and existing products.
- Ensure new product introduction success.

Core Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related program
- At least 8 years of manufacturing engineering work experience
- At least 3 years people leadership work experience
Preferred:
- Chemicals or Biochemicals industry manufacturing experience
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing implementation
- Experience with using root cause analysis and Lean Six Sigma tools for process improvement and waste reduction
- Knowledge of SAP

- Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually
