Job description
Salesforce Inc. seeks Software Engineering SMTS in San Francisco, CA:
Job Duties: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems that run across thousands of compute nodes in multiple datacenters. Build reliable, self-healing services on unreliable hardware. Build and operate the distributed platforms that define cloud-scale infrastructure. Develop, operate and manage software over public cloud substrates such as AWS, GCP, Azure. Balance live-site management, feature delivery, and retirement of technical debt. Own and operate multiple instances of a mission-critical service. Provide service ownership by handling customer incidents and providing the needed customer support. Work with HDFS, Yarn, Kafka, Spark, HBase, Phoenix, Hive, Presto or equivalent large-scale distributed systems technologies. ˆHQ address additionally encompasses the following Salesforce locations in San Francisco: 350 Mission Street, 415 Mission Street, and 50 Fremont Street. The permanent position may be offered at any of these locations in San Francisco. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the field of software engineering/program analysis or two (2) years of experience in the job offered.
A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).
Special Skill Requirements: (1) AWS HBase; (2) RAM/ROM; (3) Scale Tests; (4) Chaos Monkey Framework; (5) Zookeeper; (6) Performance; (7) OpenSource; (8) Kibana; (9) Dashboards. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.
