Jobs With Justice is a national network of local coalitions comprised of labor unions, worker centers, community, faith-based, and student organizations.  We work locally and nationally to reduce inequality by expanding opportunities for workers to organize and to bargain collectively. The national staff provides strategic support to over 20 autonomous local coalitions, builds networks on common issues, shapes public discourse and leads strategic campaigns to strengthen power for working people. Jobs With Justice is committed to winning real change for workers by leading campaigns that combine innovative communications strategies, solid research and policy advocacy, grassroots action, and coalition building.

The Research Department of Jobs With Justice produces research that supports campaigns to raise standards for workers and informs the public discourse on workers’ rights, and advocates for policies that seek to expand bargaining. The Research Department also houses two major projects of Jobs With Justice, the Labor Research and Action Network (LRAN) and the Advancing Black Strategists Initiative (ABSI).

Position overview: 
The Research Analyst (senior level of experience) or Researcher (junior level of experience) contributes essential support to the Research Department of Jobs With Justice and plays a lead role in coordinating the Labor Research and Action Network (LRAN). The position is supervised by the Research Director.

Qualifications:

Location: Washington, DC (hybrid remote and office work)

Salary: $61,205 - $75,605 (steps in the collective bargaining agreement are based on years of experience)

This is a union-represented position and is a member of the Washington Baltimore News Guild Local 32035. This position does not conduct managerial, nor supervision duties as defined in the NLRA.

Physical Demands: Work is performed primarily in a remote/in person office setting with occasional travel required to be in-person for relationship building work planning meetings and events. This role involves a long period of computer work. This position requires the ability to communicate with colleagues and partners via phone, video conferencing, email and other virtual channels. This position may also require occasional night and weekend hours to support organizational work (with comp time)
