Job description
Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager for our Manufacturing client in Clayton, NC. The Accounting Manager reports to the Plant Controller and is responsible for providing ongoing support of general and cost accounting activities within the Finance department. This role is a key role in the internal control structure and closing the monthly general ledger.
Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end closing process (i.e. prepare journal entries, assist in control files)
- Analyze inventory reports with emphasis on cost valuation analysis
- Maintenance of general ledger account activity with creation of reconciliation schedules·
- Ensures compliance with Company Accounting policies
- Assist in the reporting and analysis of key performance measurements for the company’s various financial metrics
- Closing of job orders in ERP system
- Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support operations
- Implement and maintain internal controls at the plant for operations, sales and finance
- Balance Inter-Company with other plants
- Support other functional areas of accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed (cut A/P checks, apply A/R payments, etc.)
- Responsible for Corporate reporting of financial data
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. ·
- Minimum of 5 years’ in senior accounting position
- Previous supervisory skills preferred; will have 3 direct reports
- Manufacturing accounting experience required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience manufacturing ERP systems required
- Advanced level Excel skills required (i.e. Pivot table, Vlookup; IF statements, etc.)
- Month-end close experience required
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
