Job Description:
U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking a Senior Operational Excellence Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in training, mentoring, and coaching personnel at all levels of the organization on Lean and Six Sigma principles, tools, and practices. You will work with the Plant Manager to reduce manufacturing costs and increase productivity by eliminating waste, reducing variation, streamlining key value streams, and optimizing business processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute OpEx training program for the leadership team and team members.
- Develop and execute OpEx roadmap.
- Own, measure, and develop conclusions / OpEx improvements based on TRIR/Severity combined metric, Defective rate, OEE Casting, Finishing Tons/Day, Conversion Cost ($/Ton) and MPT (Man-Hour)
- Drives Standard Work through documentation application and practice audits.
- Drive 5S program and overall measurement process.
- Partner with plant department managers to cascade plant KPI’s to their teams through strategic deployment and support KPI driven discussions.
- Develop and deploy business unit goals to drive efforts towards the achievement of the business unit goals.
- Support RCA process at plant level ensuring standard approach and development of team leaders.
- Mentor plant leaders in problem solving techniques and approaches.
- Be a Change Agent to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Carry out advanced data collection and analysis.
- Create and sustain systems to remove waste from the current operations: Continuous Improvement ideas, 5S initiatives, waste walks, etc. with Plant Manager.
- Create OpEx program future state expectations and develop plans to drive to programs to that state.
Skills & Other Requirements:
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in operations, maintenance, and/or engineering in a foundry environment is required.
- At least 5 years of operations experience using continuous improvement tools to achieve expected results.
- At least 5 years of experience in leading individuals, teams, and training and coaching groups
- A bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy is required.
- LSS Certification required (Black Belt preferred)
