POSITION SUMMARY
The Reliability Engineer uses established procedures to perform a variety of engineering work related to development of special, custom, and standard equipment and products. This position understands fundamental concepts, practices & procedures and works on projects to determine the reliability of products & components. This role has a fundamental understanding of equipment requirements along with business and customer requirements that drive the design of the technical solutions and participates in all phases of product development life-cycle, including concept and prototype analysis, design, production launch, sustaining production, and end-of-life support of designed equipment, as well as the support of complementary engineering staff for application configuration and startup support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze project requirements and perform standard technical calculations to develop test equipment and procedures used to evaluate the reliability and usable life of products and components.
- Using statistical methods, execute test plans and processes to determine the projected life of products and components when used in customer applications in the field.
- Execute experiments, collect and analyze the resultant data.
- Select, evaluate and specify necessary hardware, mechanical, electrical & electronic components required in development of custom and standard equipment and product.
- Provide technical and start-up support and information to customers, engineers, sales & manufacturing as required.
- Perform Engineering calculations and analysis, initiate, review & complete engineering change notices.
- Support and participate in quality programs.
- Participate in design reviews and scheduled department meetings.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 0-2+ years related work experience. Additional experience is a bonus.
- Programming/scripting experience (Labview, C#, Python, Microsoft .net, and Visual Basic experience is preferred).
- Semiconductor industry knowledge or experience is a bonus.
- Knowledge of networking (Ethernet, CAN, USB in industrial applications is a bonus)
- Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, & planning skills with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
