JOB SUMMARY
The Smart Card/EMV Manager position is responsible for the overall plant production performance in the EMV department as it relates to efficiencies, scheduling execution and team development. Drive plant KPIs through Lean manufacturing, source metrics and standard process. Drive the scheduling process to insure just-in-time manufacturing while controlling inventory levels and accuracy. Work closely with the GM to develop cost control and profitability to leverage commercial focus on strategic customers.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Direct and manage plant operations for production and maintenance.
- Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop and control profits, plans, and budget for the department.
- Establish and monitor overall department performance for production and quality standards.
- Control and minimize labor overtime and expenses.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance program.
- Provide monthly P/L reports for continuing budget analysis.
- Review and analyze production quality control and maintenance operational reports to determine causes of deviance from product specifications.
- Develop, document and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate production issues and improve product quality.
- Provide direction, development and leadership to production team.
- Establish manufacturing policies and operations standards for cost control and production efficiency.
- Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field is required.
- At least 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing/operations leadership role.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Demonstrated experience with financial/operational controls and programs, and working knowledge of engineering, manufacturing practices, logistics, safety, quality, purchasing and materials management.
- A customer focused team player with excellent communication, strong problem solving and organizational skills. Past experience leading teams, departments, and managing/developing staff.
- Understanding and implementation of Lean manufacturing and GMP.
- Advanced leadership skills driven by values that support the objectives of the company.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and a service orientation.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and excellent platform skills.
- Must possess high standards of personal integrity.
PREFERRED
- Experience the plastic card industry is a big plus but not required.
