Planet Technologyis looking for a
Product Designerto join our well known Digital Technology client for a 6-month contract assignment with a potential to extend the contract. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing elegant user experiences with a proven track record of solving complex interaction problems across multiple platforms. The candidate must have an eye for pixel perfect detail, and possess a strong blend of interaction and visual design skills, as well as a grasp over user-centered design principals. The applicant must have an affinity for consistency, color use, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details. The position requires deliverables to be provided under tight deadlines and with input from many cross-functional stakeholders. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams such as design producers, engineering, program managers, business, and QA. They should be self-motivated, proactive, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision. Strong collaboration skills are a must, as well as calmness under pressure, problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to cope with rapid change.
Key Qualifications
- An excellent on-line portfolio showcasing user experience and visual design work for desktop and touch devices
- 5+ years work experience crafting extraordinary user interface design in web, mobile-web, and iOS app experiences
- Ability to communicate design concept ideas through sketches and wireframes
- Highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote and other design tools
- Ability to prototype in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, After Effects, or other tools
- Icon design and 3D experience is desired
- Experience in designing iOS app experiences from start to finish as a visual and UI designer with familiarity of iOS development
- Able to function independently and in a team environment
- Enthusiasm for an iterative design process, inspired by group critique
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Previous experience working in e-commerce environment is a plus
- A passion for the company, its products, and its customers is a requirement
