ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
Catholic Charities is one of the largest, oldest, and most comprehensive nonprofit human services organizations in Northern California, annually reaching more than 60,000 vulnerable individuals of all faiths in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin Counties. With a staff of approximately 450, reaching peaks of nearly 600 with seasonal hires, a budget of $54.3 million, and a current governing board of 27, this venerable, fully-accredited, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit addresses some of the most pressing community needs – homelessness, generational poverty, immigration, inequality, hunger, aging in isolation, and communicable disease -- to name a few – with compassion and services of highest quality.
PROGRA M & POSITION SU MM ARY
Catholic Charities, San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department (JPD), and the Department of Children Youth and their Families (DCYF) collaborate to provide community-based residential services to boys ages 12-18 under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Juvenile Court. The San Francisco Boys’ Home (“Boys’ Home”) is the only short-term residential therapeutic program (STRTP) located in the City and County of San Francisco. The Boys’ Home provides therapeutic, educational, rehabilitation, and recreational services in a home-like setting that is staffed 24 hours a day. The youth live in a residential San Francisco house, and receives therapeutic services at our adjunct Euclid House.
The Program Director is responsible to the Senior Program Director for the general management and coordination of services, personnel management, facility and fiscal management for The San Francisco Boys Home .

- Operations : M onitor , direct and oversee operations for treatment and clinical services provided at SFBH in compliance with Catholic Cha r ities, CCL & JPD policies and procedures . Build internal and external collaborations which enhance p r ogram operations ef f ectiveness and ef f iciency . Must be willing to complete the STRTP Administrator Licensure and be on call for program support and emergencies.
- Clinical Management :
Manage intake referrals and ensure delegated placement procedures are implemented. Support and oversee the plans of care of youth served. Support individual, group, family, and rehabilitative mental health services. Report on status of plans of care at treatment conferences.

QU ALIFICATIO N S
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience: - A minimum of a BA or BS from an accredited educational institution with major coursework in social services, public administration, psychology, health sciences, or a related field (Equivalent education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job may be considered.)
- Clinical License in Marriage and Family Therapy or Social work is highly preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience within the field of youth in the judicial system highly preferred; experience in residential and community based mental health services for foster care and probation youth also considered.
- 2-3 years of experience supervising staff.
- 2-3 years or more of federal contract management.
- Experience with analysis of data.
- Experience in planning and managing large budgets.
- Experience in managing an accredited and licensed programming.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices.
- Knowledge of Employment Law and Personnel Practices.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Solid knowledge of research methodology and techniques.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal communication and supervisory skills.
- Ability to communicate with many stakeholders i.e., Federal and County officials, Community Care licensing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and Outlook e-mail.
- Candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish (read, write and speak).
- Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is predominantly conducted in an office setting. Some local travel is required, as this position will conduct minimum quarterly visits to assigned programs/divisions.
Additional Information:
This position involves a six-month probationary period.
This position may require some irregular schedules to include evening and weekend work.
This position requires travel to various programs sites on a monthly basis. Mileage will be reimbursed.
