Job description
We are seeking someone at a Senior Corporate Tax Associate level who is ready to move into a Manager role to oversee tax strategies for a global digital entertainment platform. This will include partnering with a third party firm on income taxes, sales taxes, VAT/GST, and more. You will support audits, handle reporting, and manage business licenses as well as collaborate with external experts for international tax planning.
This is a growth opportunity to move into a leadership role and mentor a team of two tax professionals for compliance, reconciliation, and audit defense. This role involves regular communication with senior leadership, department heads, operational and finance personnel, government tax authorities, and tax specialists.
Location : This is a hybrid role, 50% work in our Schaumburg, IL office and 50% work from home.
Day-to-day r esponsibilities :
Responsible for tax compliance and deadlines.
Provide expert tax advice for business decisions and transactions.
Work with third party tax advisors for US State and Local Income Tax filing.
Oversee US and Canada Income Tax Compliance.
Lead US Federal Tax audits and support document review.
Manage state and local tax audits, protests, and appeals.
Handle business licenses and legal representation renewal.
Lead and mentor tax professionals for a high-performing team.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Additional assigned projects and responsibilities.
What you bring to the table :
· Strong analytical, creative and logic skills
· 6-10 years of relevant “operational tax” experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance related field required
· Hands on experience managing the demands of meeting tax deadlines
· Experience with software implementation and automation tax tools
· Demonstrated ability and desire to perform in a high-energy, and an ever-changing environment
· Experience with Oracle e-BS and Vertex or similar software is a plus
