Job description
job summary:
A Process Engineer is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering in Houston TX, or Port Arthur, TX (could be remote but needs to be able to travel to either location) areas. This job will leads project deliverables, offers technical support, oversees design, ensures compliance, troubleshoots systems, and contributes to cost estimation, leveraging chemical engineering expertise and software proficiency.

responsibilities:
- Prepare project deliverables and contract documents for various project phases.
- Provide technical support for Aromatics unit and associated facilities.
- Oversee design contractor activities and provide recommendations to the engineering team.
- Produce deliverables to support cost estimates for capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and code requirements.
- Troubleshoot process systems and propose solutions.
- Lead HAZOP sessions for capital projects.
- Participate in cross-discipline checks and project design reviews.
- Survey existing process systems and assess field conditions.
- Handle construction administration tasks such as responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.
- Provide seal and signature as a professional engineer when required.
- Act in an advisory role on process engineering matters.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with 15+ years of experience.
- Ability to collaborate with vendors, contractors, and multiple departments.
- Proficiency in CAD and other engineering software.
- Experience in completing process engineering assignments and reviewing supplier drawings.
- Familiarity with preparing specifications, data sheets, and construction documents.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Field experience including occasional visits, climbing stairs, and lifting.
- strong background in process design for oil and chemical industries, including aromatics units.
- Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or other process simulation software.
- Comprehensive understanding of code compliance and industry standards.
- Professional Engineer registration may be required.
