Job description

We are looking for a new permanent, part-time team member to join our tea stained staff at Tea Market. If you’ve ever thought while shopping with us, “Wow, I think it might be cool to work here”, keep reading. We are looking for an energetic, friendly person who loves tea, loves people, and would find purpose in the idea of contributing to the success of a small independent woman owned local business. An ideal candidate would be naturally into health and wellness, mature, love learning new things and helping people. We value organizational skills, accuracy, communication skills, creativity and a caring, positive attitude as well as responsibility and reliability.

Job Details:
The position is; 10-5:00 Tuesdays and 10-6:00 Fridays and 2 Saturday’s a month. The 2 Saturday’s are flexible, but mandatory as staffing to cover our busiest day of the week is always our biggest challenge, so we work together to make it work for everyone. Here's what you'll do;  

• Help nice people like you find teas they will love, measure them out properly, ring up customers accurately, make delicious drinks at Tea Bar, educate people about tea (don’t worry about this part, we’ll teach you first, thank them sincerely and invite them back.
• There’s also non-glamourous mandatory work involved; restocking teas, tins, bags, etc. 
• Attractively merchandising product, keeping the shop neat, dust free and tidy. 
• Shipping on-line orders. 
• Receiving and unpacking shipments that arrive, etc. This involves going up and down stairs and ladders and the physical ability to do so EASILY is a required part of the job.

We refer to Tea Market as the tea shop with the heart of a teacher, you will enjoy gaining that knowledge and sharing it with people.

The job pays $15 an hour, to start for the right person and through the trial period, and has perks; generous employee discount, yummy company provided Saturday lunch, Crestwood block discount, a 7 hour work day on Tuesday and Saturday and 8 hours on Friday that doesn’t start until 10:00, the appreciation of a genuinely nice, loyal customer base and supportive friends to work with.

We’re looking for a special person that really wants to be a part of what we’re doing and carrying on the 22 year mission of helping people improve their health by finding delicious teas and everything they need to enjoy them. There would be a trial period to be sure we are all a fit and we are hoping to find someone to settle in with us for a few years and be dedicated to the schedule, the team and contributing on every level to growing the business.
