SUMMARY

The Shipyard is currently seeking candidates for a  Media Intern  in the San Diego office.

Our goal is to provide candidates with an opportunity to gain real-world experiences with a fully integrated, digitally savvy ad agency. We aim to create more opportunities for growing diverse talent to have exposure, experience, and access to jobs within the marketing and advertising space. While the internship is for a semester (3-6 months), some have established a career at The Shipyard.

At The Shipyard, we know that it's your unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives that make you who you are, just like our team, who come from various career paths and experiences. We believe we can't be truly diverse without bringing your most authentic self to the agency.

Studies show that people from marginalized communities may not always apply for positions if they don't meet every single requirement in a job posting. At The Shipyard, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the requirements. We believe that your passion for what we stand for — our values and purpose — is just as important as meeting every checkbox.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This Intern will be dedicated to the Media Planning & Buying department and assigned a supervisor to provide general guidance and mentorship while learning about the agency and how we work cross-functionality, having an opportunity to explore and learn about all pieces within an advertising agency.

Summer Interns will get an overview of all departments in the agency and will have the opportunity to shadow various meetings and working sessions, partnering with team members on tasks and assignments allowing them to contribute to the overall project/campaign.

We truly believe that a hands-on learning approach is essential to the success of our Interns, therefore, we require candidates to be able to work on-site in our  San Diego  office.

The expectation is that this Intern will work approximately 24 hours per week. Interns will be compensated $18-20 per hour for their participation in this program. It is expected that internship candidates have a High School Diploma/GED.
