Position Description:

This position is for an experienced Validation/Verification (VV) monitor who will lead a team through Val/Ver process on quality checks for maintenance, troubleshooting and operator concepts within technical manuals. This position will also be responsible for the technical interface with internal and external customers for all technical manual issues relating to Abrams projects being performed at SHC.

Detailed responsibilities include:
* Lead a group of Val/Ver monitors to perform all contract deliverables on or below budget and on or ahead of schedule.


* Serve as primary liaison between GDLS and Government representatives to resolve technical/administrative issues identified during Validation/Verification and Logistics Demonstration programs.


* Investigate customer and internal inquiries and provide response, reports and materials as required.


* Must be able to organize and conduct Validation/Verification of Operator, Maintenance and Troubleshooting Technical Publications for tracked and wheeled vehicles and ancillary equipment to insure technical accuracy/usability, with minimal oversight to completion.

* Support Government Verifications, Logistics Demonstrations and Contractor Validations on tracked vehicle technical publications at GDLS and Government facilities with minimal oversight to completion.

* Analyze Engineering drawings, electrical schematics and specifications to identify hardware configuration requirements and diagnose vehicle system faults.


* Assists in planning and coordinating work activities to meet department requirements to include providing estimates on new projects.


* Assists in assessing new work requirements and schedule requirements


* Provides interface and technical leadership with product customers and other departments/sections


* Provides day-to-day project leadership and guidance


* Assesses work progress and determines work around where required


* Reviews section/team work products and coordinates/facilitates internal reviews


* Develops and fosters a cohesive team


* Tracks and monitors EVMS (when required)

* Trains team members (when required)

Position Requirements:


* Must have a high level knowledge of Technical Manuals, Modification Work Orders (MWO), National Maintenance Work Requests (NMWR) and other publications.

* Previous military tracked and/or wheeled vehicle operation and/or maintenance experience is highly desirable.

*Must be able to obtain security clearance.

* Must have working knowledge of drawings, Change Requests (CR), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), computer models and other technical documentation to address any issues with technical manual work packages.


* Must have complete understanding of and wide application of processes, tools used during Validation/Verification of Log Products.


* Must be able to independently perform diagnostics and systems troubleshooting of Abrams vehicles, components and assemblies.


* Must be able to meet ASR Guidelines for working in an enclosed vehicle IAW SP 2-644.


* Must have a working knowledge of AR 25-30, AR 700-82 and Army Pamphlet 25-31 and 25-40.


* Must be physically able to work on/in tracked and wheeled vehicles.


* Occasional out-of-town travel may be required to conduct programs.


* Extended workdays/workweeks may be required in support of Logistics programs.


* Strong organizational and administrative skills required, including ability to use all Microsoft Office products.


* Must have good oral and written communications skills.


* Must be able to use Microsoft Office products to develop/maintain departmental forms and records in accordance with ISO standards.

* College Degree is preferred for this position. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
