Job description
Position Highlights:
- The Specialty Scheduling Coordinator is an experienced clerical staff member responsible for coordinating patient appointments involving multiple resources and/or complex record gathering (including records from external entities) to facilitate accurate scheduling.
- Is responsible for follow-up including communicating with all stakeholders (verbally, written and electronically).
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will have an Associate's degree.
- Has prior oncology related scheduling experience and scheduling experience at Moffitt.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules and coordinates patient appointments requiring multiple resources and interdependencies. Communicates with all stakeholders including patients in the manner preferred by each (email, report, phone, etc.). Obtains medical records as needed from outside providers.
- Conducts "Prep" for clinic or department including the compilation of patient data and or documentation.
- Follows up on errors and offers contributions and suggestions to improve current methods.
- Contributes innovative ideas to improve work practices and flow.
- Trains and mentors new peers / team members.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of scheduling experience or prior medical experience as a scheduler in a hospital/clinic with complex scheduling algorithms is required.
- Excellent verbal communication, computer and organization skills are required.
