Job description

The Associate Plant Controller provides financial leadership to the manufacturing site as an integral part of the leadership team. This position is responsible for identifying and driving improvements within operations and financial performance. In addition, this position will also help to assist and drive improvements in global cost accounting analysis, financial reporting, planning, and operational controlling.

 

• Responsible for financial oversight of the manufacturing location (CPT)
• Play a key role in establishing the financial direction for the site (CPT); coordinate, consolidate, and analyze financial results, plans, and forecasts.
• Prepares financial analysis for various business opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives, accesses associated risks, and makes recommendation both at a site (CPT) and global level
• Leads the month end close and forecast process for the site
• Analyze and interpret actual results/cost trends, explain key variances, and make recommendations for action at site and global level
• Collaborate with business partners in order to determine reporting needs, and deliver clear reports and presentations, utilizing a variety of software packages.
• Influence decisions cross-functionally.
• Prepare annual audits and annual budgets for operations.
• Prepare short-term and long-term financial projections; provide critical assessment of all budgets and cost projections.
• Assist in Month-end consolidation of global manufacturing profit statements.
• Keep up to date on new vendors and possible cost-cutting partnerships.
• Collaborate with plants and department heads to strategize ways to minimize waste, develop and implement proactive solutions and cost-cutting measures.

• Works together with business partners in order to determine reporting needs and delivers clear and effective reports, KPIs, and presentations, utilizing a variety of software packages.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the interdependency of cost drivers.
• Understand the entire arc of the business and how productivity impacts profitability.
• Commit to maximizing efficiency at all levels without compromising quality.
• Present new strategies and assessments to stakeholders in a compelling way; educate and persuade stakeholders to buy in and support implementation.
• Roll out clear cost-saving programs with timelines and assessment goals.
• Performs backup duties for cost team members as required.
• Contributes as a member of the global cost team that works to drive consistency and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Ensure collaboration and consistency between plants and facilitate continuous improvement and best practices, including cost roll, month-end processes, etc.
• Seeks out continuous improvement best practice with an emphasis on what can be learned and implemented to drive a best in class operation and efficient processes.

 

 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years in a related field
• Advanced MS Excel knowledge preferred
• SAP Business Objects & Qlik knowledge preferred
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral

• Skilled at networking and interpersonal relationships
• Technical acumen for generating budgets and reports
• Strong presentation skills with focus on explaining concepts concisely and accurately
• Capable of developing strong, cooperative relationships with department heads
• Creative thinking skills and problem solving

 

Physical Requirements:

• General office environment, sitting for extended periods
• Close visual acuity when working with computers, etc.

• Work remotely and also on-site in Bloomington, IN
