Job description
Aderas, Inc. is seeking a Computer System Specialist/Development Engineer to join the team.
Primary Job Duties:
- Design, develop, and deploy computer systems, software applications, and related components to meet organizational requirements and operational objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including end-users, system administrators, and technical teams, to gather requirements, define specifications, and prioritize development efforts.
- Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of existing systems, software applications, and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement, optimization, and enhancement.
- Develop and implement software solutions, scripts, tools, and utilities to automate repetitive tasks, streamline processes, and improve system performance.
- Configure, install, and maintain hardware, software, and networking components to ensure compatibility, reliability, and security of computer systems and infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and security vulnerabilities, and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and address issues.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and guidance to end-users, administrators, and support staff on system operation, configuration, and usage.
- Document system configurations, software configurations, technical procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing, training, and compliance purposes.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in computer systems, software development, cybersecurity, and information technology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software integration, system testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities.
- Participate in project planning, task estimation, and milestone tracking to ensure timely delivery and successful completion of development projects.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards related to system security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Required Education & Work Experience:
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related field, or 10+ equivalent experience
- 5+ yrs experience in computer systems administration, software development, or related fields
- Deep understanding of system architecture, software design principles, and industry best practices
- Also have experience leading projects, mentoring junior team members, and providing technical guidance to stakeholders
- Must meet 8570 Certifications - at minimum IAM Level 1 requirements, preferably, IAM Level II
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Healthcare sector
- Experience in Military Health
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical community
- Critical thinking skills
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of system administration, network administration, database management, and cybersecurity principles and practices
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and software lifecycle management processes
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and deliver high-quality results within defined timelines
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required for Applicants (Active U.S. Passport needed)
Location: Remote / 30% travel
