Position Summary:The University Human Resources Benefits Consultant plays a crucial role in supporting the administration and implementation of employee benefits programs at the university. This position requires a strong understanding of benefits administration, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and excellent communication skills. This position will work closely with university stakeholders, employees, and benefit vendors to ensure effective and efficient delivery of benefits services. Tasks will include program administration, accounting functions, technical support, and team reinforcement.
Minimum Qualifications:Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of progressively responsible experience in Benefits administration. Experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating and promoting benefits related policies and procedures required. Excellent communication (written and oral) and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability in counseling employees, supervisors and other staff on retirement and other benefit related options. Experience in higher education or the public service sector preferred.
