Job description
The day-to-day responsibilities include serving as chief academic mediator between students, teachers, and parents. Some examples of ongoing tasks include:
- Creating and maintaining the master schedule for all US courses.
- Meeting with students and parents to advise on course signups, academic progress, and all other academic issues as they arise.
- Supporting, encouraging, and coaching teachers on best practices, with the goal of enhancing the classroom experience for all students.
- Overseeing all course grades and teacher comments on an ongoing basis to ensure proper record keeping, academic eligibility, and graduation requirements.
- Communicating with parents and students regularly through email, phone calls, and meetings to provide information and demonstrate care and concern for students.
- Analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data and test results to various stakeholders.
- Working with department chairs to plan curriculum and course offerings.
- Providing general support to fellow teachers and administrators with the purpose of advancing the academic goals of CSN and the Upper School.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Upper School.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have a graduate degree (preferably in education) and prior teaching and administrative experience in independent schools. Particular preference will be given to those candidates with prior experience as an upper school dean of academics in independent schools.
