Job description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Strategy & Planning, Director to support our Air and Space Force Solutions business development portfolio.
In alignment with our customer facing strategy, incumbent will be an experienced line leader that has intimate knowledge, understanding and customer relationships with current and future Air and Space Force customers. This person will be responsible for revising our business area go to market strategy, ensuing the line, business development and capture resources are aligned and focused on our priorities. Incumbent will be someone that has an understanding of Air and Space Force priorities, budgets, command structures and acquisition approaches. A credible leader to support our efforts in the Air and Space Force Solutions organization will enable us to qualify and grow an existing unqualified pipeline of $5B, as well as ensure correct focus and execution of pending awards and an existing $490M Air and Space Force portfolio. The position is 100% onsite, reporting to work in McLean, VA.
The successful hire will lead the development and execution of strategies to advance and grow our business. As a direct report to the Air and Space Force Vice President & General Manager, they will develop strategies and manage customer relationships. This position will partner with their business winning team to drive the organization’s strategic growth objectives by developing and refining an understanding of customers’ most important needs and creating/leading winning capture strategies.
Specific duties include:
•Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key opportunities
•Grow the opportunity pipeline within the Air and Space Force markets/customers, through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities by leveraging current technologies, customer intimacies, and inter-company collaboration
•Lead and develop a team to execute our programs, improve customer engagement and understanding of the Intelligence and Sector sector’s capabilities to bring to market
•Translate customer requirements into executable solutions, suggest technology and other enablers to meet emerging customer needs
•Lead or make recommendations to the senior leadership team regarding bid decisions, development of cost strategies and phase reviews
•Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to specific customers in the Air and Space Force market
•Support creation and execution of multi-year business growth and execution strategies
•Participate in B&P planning as well as overhead budgets
Required Education, Experience, & Skills • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years related work experience (minimum)
• 20 years’ experience minimum working with Air Force and Space customers. In filling this position we will strategically hire someone that has deep Air Force and Space customer intimacy at a senior and strategic level.
• 20 years’ experience minimum working in government defense contracting within capture management or business development
• Demonstrated experience directly a BD or Capture Function supporting a minimum of 250M P&L
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills • Extensive experience working proposals and responding to RFP's
• Previous military experience at the Senior Enlisted rank of E9 or commissioned O6 and higher encouraged to apply
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $164000 - $278800

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
