AWS Engineer

Redan LLC is looking for an AWS Engineer to be part of a growing team in the federal sector.

The AWS Engineer will be w orking in a fast-paced Agile environment, performing operations, design, and development in a Cloud base environment. The AWS Engineer will be responsible for building innovative tools, transforming, updating, and improving the quality of data in the pursuit of solving a wide range of environmental and socio-economic issues, working closely with development to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions.

The candidate should possess a strong desire to automate and create infrastructure-as-code solutions in a DevOps environment .

What You'll Be Doing

As the AWS Engineer at Redan, you will:

• Provide end-to-end capabilities for managing data from various sources - satellites, aircraft , field measurements, and other programs.
• Ensure adherence to operational agreements and polices (in response time).
• Ensure compliance to programs including Section 508 compliance.
• Leverage industry best practice for automation and scalability of assets, and implementation of issue detection and alerts.

Profile of Success

Required

• 12+ years of integration, systems analysis, or programming experience .
• 5-7 years of programming / scripting experience in C++, BASH, Python, Java and Java script particularly within an Agile development environment.
• Experience in supporting infrastructures and operations using DevOps automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform.
• Focus on high availability of hardware, data replication, and provide real-time recovery in failure situations.

• Familiar ity with core suite of AWS services related to DevOps, including the Management and Deployment services such as Terraform and IAM .
• Solid work experience in preparing IT technical documents. 

Nice to Have

• Experience with the UNIX OS
• Experience with full life cycle Software design and development experience on large/complex n-tier client/server applications.
• AWS Solutions Architect and/or Developer Certification.

Conditions of Employment

• US Citizenship is required .
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• A minimum of 12 years' position-related experience is required .
