The Department of Neurosciences has a large research group studying neuro-degenerative diseases. Stimulated by neuropathological observations and genetic discoveries, studies in cell and animal models of neuro-degenerative disorders have begun to clarify pathogenetic mechanisms of disease. We examine the intersection of these research themes and identify several potential mechanisms for linking failed neurotrophic factor signaling to neurodegeneration. We will be expanding our research group and are looking for a Staff Research Associate to support our efforts.
