Job Summary
If you're interested in a Payroll Tax Analyst job, then this is the best role for you. This position is responsible for US and Puerto Rico payroll tax activities including analyzing tax data for accuracy and ensuring timely remittance and reporting/filing of tax obligations thru internal and 3rd party processes. This position will also be responsible for analysis of employee tax records, allocations of taxes for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and the alternate work location activities.
Job Description
- Help with quarter and month end activities around getting files ready so third-party provider can file the returns.
- Manual filing/reporting of W2s Federal Return quarterly and key payment into third-party vendor for payment for a small number of US residents who work outside the US.
- Provide support to internal and external partners by analyzing and resolving agency inquiries and notices from federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
- Resolve employee inquires via email and ticketing system.
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned or required.
- Help with monthly SAP system testing including SAP Tax changes and SUI Rate Changes.
- Partner with Mobility and EY on assignee tax activities for the US and Canada.
- Enter W2C into third-party system for employee access.
Skills Required
- Strong ability to analyze data; identify root-cause of issues & detail findings with recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex payroll tax issues and an understanding of US, Puerto Rico, and Federal, State, Local and Providence payroll tax regulations.
- Demonstrated understanding of US & Puerto Rico W2/W2C reporting & filings requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information & adhere to data privacy & internal compliance requirements.
- Preferences:
- SAP Payroll Experience
- ADP Smart Compliance Experience
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience within Payroll Tax or Accounting.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check.
- Shift: 8:00 AM
- Duration of Assignment: 6 months with an option to be extended- Remote or local.
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour based on qualifications.
