Job description
Summary/Objective:
Essential duties include performing and managing specific accounting functions, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and recurring month-end close tasks. The primary responsibilities will include performing and managing general ledger accounting duties according to GAAP. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller.
The most essential task of this role will involve regular bank consolidations and ensuring that all financial data is ready for the monthly closing of company financials.
Essential Functions:
- Performs and maintains specific accounting functions that are by GAAP.
- Consistently performs and maintains assigned account reconciliations in a timely, organized, and accurate manner.
- Analyze existing account reconciliations and perform the necessary clean-up tasks needed to bring them into compliance standards.
- Performs ad hoc requests and projects as necessary.
- Assist with routine audits by providing data and reasonable explanations when necessary.
- Must have the ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change, work effectively within cross-functional teams, be highly resourceful, willing to learn, able to deliver strong results, and possess a strong set of communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Have a strong understanding of general ledger accounting under GAAP and the related impacts generated by common sales, purchasing, banking, and fixed asset transactions.
- Evaluate existing procedures for daily functions to determine methods for reducing the time and cost of accounting operations
- Performs other work-related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a Senior level role or higher is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Prior Military preferred (Spouses as well)
