Job description

Seattle Gourmet Foods needs to fill the position of Maintenance Mechanic. We are looking for candidates who are skilled in routine, proactive, corrective, and preventative maintenance in a food production facility. We are a privately owned gourmet food manufacturer, located in Kent Washington.

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic is Safe Quality Food and to ensure our food production equipment runs smoothly.

• Accomplish equipment maintenance and technical assistance to operators.
• Conduct ongoing preventative visual inspections of production machinery and load-handling equipment and provide all scheduled/non-scheduled maintenance and repair as required.
• Complete preventative maintenance reports and other documents to communicate the status of equipment and action required for the effective operation of production equipment.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Qualification includes:

• 1-5+ years of food production mechanic experience.
• Preferred experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and welding.
• Able to read and interpret schematics.
• A high level of competency in maintaining and testing line equipment.
• Comfortable with diagnosing and resolving technical problems on the production line.
• Good knowledge and passion for learning about food manufacturing/production.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good attendance and performance record.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English.

Compensation and Benefits:

• M-Th. Hours negotiable.
• $30 -40 /hour DOE.
