Position Summary: As a Senior Staff Software Engineer and Power BI Developer you will design and develop reports that provide insights that improve customer decision-making. The successful developer has working knowledge of business intelligence, data integration, data warehousing, modeling, database, and technical aspects of BI tools in general and Power BI in particular. You will work with NAVEX customers to design, build, and deploy standard and custom reports that provide customers with the insights they need to build effective ethics and compliance programs. This role is not focused on writing code or backend data processing, but on developing visualizations that delight customers and help their organizations prosper. We Offer You:

What You Will Do:
  • Design and develop interactive and easy-to-understand BI dashboards and reports from raw data that provide meaningful insights and improve decision making for our customers
  • Understand business requirements of BI context and design data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights
  • Design, develop, implement, and test Power BI reports and DAX measures
  • Be the subject matter expert for data visualization
  • Work with customers to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for standard and custom reporting
  • Collaborate with customer stakeholders at various levels (from BI Analysts to C-suite), to understand their needs and where we can improve NAVEX products to delight our users
  • Identify data quality issues, determine root cause, and make recommendations for correcting issues
  • Work with data engineers to identify data fields and transformation needs from business understanding and exploratory data analysis
  • Document algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships
  • Perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI, creating customized diagrams and user-defined calculations as needed
  • Identify data standardization needs to bring to Data Governance team
  • Design, develop and deploy business intelligence solutions with SQL queries for best results, filters, and graphs to better understand customer's data for performance improvements and suggestions
  • Make technological adjustments to current BI systems to improve their performance
  • Provide suggestions and make technological adjustments to improve existing BI systems to improve their performance, designing technically and strategically
What You Will Need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information technology, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, data management, or data visualization preferred
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience with Power BI; Power BI certification is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in data and analytics related roles; software or SaaS industry experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in data visualization preferred
  • Familiarity with DAX and Power Query
  • Familiarity with Data Exploration, Analysis, and Visualization
  • Strong analytical thinking for converting data into relevant reports and graphics
  • Knowledge of SQL server and Snowflake data source in Power BI preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile data science methodologies such as Scrum & CRISP-DM
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks, including reporting, creating dashboards, creating data models, analyzing datasets, creating reports, and complete management of Power BI tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to engage and collaborate with people across a variety of levels with diverse backgrounds

  • The starting pay for this role is $125,000 per annum with 5% MBO
  • Pay progression is based on performance.
