Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the Director for Allied Health Professions is to direct, supervise and exercise ownership of the operations for the noncredit allied health programs and the credit medical assisting certificate and degree program and to acquire and maintain program accreditation.

Duties include serving as allied health leadership; developing credit and noncredit program curricula for in-person and online formats; developing and managing budgets; recruiting, hiring, training, assigning, supervising, and evaluating noncredit and credit faculty and staff; managing daily department operations; and establishing and maintaining community and business relationships with healthcare partners.

Other duties include serving on boards and committees; serving as staff subject matter expert regarding healthcare and human services; collaborating with the community and partnerships to secure contract training; providing training proposals; delivering signed training agreements; evaluating course contracts; and performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education:

A master's degree is required.

Required Experience:

At least three years of experience is required, including leadership experience in allied health programs; direct supervisory experience; and experience establishing and maintaining community and business relationships, including healthcare providers and clinical sites.
