Software Engineer

As a Barclays Software Engineer, you will have an exciting chance to be hands-on software engineer who will work on building and delivering key software architecture components that will be scaled across the Wholesale Onboarding, GFCO and CRM group. You will include enterprise grade workflow engine, service mesh, knowledge graph/ semantic layer and UI framework.

What will you be doing?

•    Being responsible for designing, developing, enhancing and maintaining software solutions leveraging technologies such as JAVA, Spring, Angular, jBPM
•    Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high quality solutions
•    Collaborating with CTO, CSO and control functions to design secure and scalable software solutions
•    Providing estimates for software builds, including design, development and testing 
•    Working with Cross -Functional IT teams to build and maintain architecture and design of the application and data integrations
•    Analysing situations, evalauting alternatives and implementing solutions with in Barclay defined standards (where applicable)

What we’re looking for:

•    Excellent Java programming skills and spring & spring Boot, Java Unit testing Practices Junit or TestNG
•    Excellent knowledge of Spring & Spring Boot and knowledge of cloud infrastructure and principles
•    Experience with full stack development and working experience with a micro service architecture
•    Previous experience with devops culture and ci/cd methods and principles , designing and developing REST APIs with knowledge of standard development and build tools, GIT

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
•    Experience in design and development of large-scale enterprise applications and building and leading software engineering teams
•    Experience in developing Java Spring boot apps and Microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or related cloud technologies
•    Experience in Workflow orchestration and knowledge of Kafka and GraphQL
