This position is eligible for a generous sign on bonus of $7,500!

Work schedule: 4 – 10-hour shifts with on-call  requirement.

Act as a member of the health-care team by exercising sound nursing judgment based on preparation, knowledge, experience in nursing and competency. Depending on clinical area and training, may provide care and IV therapy following UPMC LPN Practice Guidelines and policies, and the State Board Regulations. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care using focused assessment in settings where nursing takes place under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other licensed UPMC provider.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist RNs to pre op and discharge patients
• Assist RNs in PACU to manage care of the patient
• Proficient in starting IVs
• Utilize effective communication to ease patient anxieties about surgery
• Utilize critical thinking skills to appropriately manager surgical patients
• Create a positive work/life balance by self-scheduling work with your needs as well as the departments. Does not require every other weekend or holidays.
