DESCRIPTION

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

To deliver these complex solutions, as the Operational Excellence Technical Program Manager you will partner with peers across all Kuiper teams, including hardware, software, supply chain, manufacturing, launch, test etc.

Candidate superpowers should include ownership, insist on high standards, continuous improvement, stakeholder management, innovation, creating clarity out of ambiguity, and enabling productive collaboration.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
The Operational Excellence Technical Program Manager for Kuiper production will support the quality and production team’s continuous improvement processes (CAPA, yield improvement, takt and cycle reductions, issue reduction) by setting an operational excellence framework that identifies repeat offenders and most impactful issues and track actions/projects to eliminate them. This TPM will define and track the metrics key to ramping up our satellite production.

A day in the life
This role will be highly collaborative, requiring partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive positive results. This role requires ability to advocate on behalf of our customers (internal and external) and an ability to push back without being adversarial.

You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
- Bachelors degree in engineering (aerospace, aviation, mechanical, electrical, industrial) or equivalent experience
- Experience driving improvement in manufacturing and production environment
- Experience owning cross-functional program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
