Job description

Prominent full-service nationwide law firm with over 40 years of experience representing survivors of catastrophic and traumatic events is seeking an eager associate to join their Mass Tort Product Liability/Toxic Torts department to help with the coordination of a large docket of claims. This is an entry level position, no experience necessary. Ideal candidates should be extremely organized, have excellent spoken and written communication skills, and be prepared to efficiently and professionally correspond with courts and opposing counsel. This is a unique opportunity to join a respected and rapidly expanding law firm with a friendly and supportive office culture, while employing your legal skills in advancing a truly worthy cause. This position is onsite at the firm’s Melville, NY office.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing legal documents
• Drafting complaints
• Conducting legal research
• Reviewing medical records
• Maintaining extensive client contact by phone, email, and in-person

Qualifications:

• Must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
• Must be admitted or pending admission to the NY and/or NJ bar
• Must live within a 30-45 minute drive from the Melville, NY office
• Must have superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well as a team with other attorneys, colleagues, support staff, and court personnel
• Must have excellent organizational skills
• Must be able to efficiently and professionally correspond with courts and opposing counsel
