Job description
The Accounting Manager is responsible for motivating and managing a team of accounting professionals. Supervision of the month end close process to ensure that tight deadlines are met accurately. The Accounting Manager will work with Operations, Board of Director members, internal and external auditors and senior management. The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and organized, and communicate decisions and recommendations to leadership is extremely important. May identify and implement necessary controls whereby ensuring the Company's financial statements are reported in conformity with GAAP. At times may also be involved in special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and other requests from the sales, marketing, corporate, resort management, and/or finance. The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and organized, and communicate in a clear and concise manner is extremely important. Although this is a fully remote role, applicants must reside in Myrtle Beach, SC.
How You'll Shine:
Supervision and staff development of a team of Accounting professionals including periodic reviews and team building
Supervise month end close to ensure tight deadlines are met
Direct and continually improve the HOA Accounting process, including consistently analyzing structure to maintain efficiency and effectiveness
Financial reporting and analysis to internal clients including Corporate Accounting and Senior Management
Participate in special projects and assignments as requested by management
Direct and consolidate information for the external audits for the HOA’s
Responsible for budgeting and forecasting
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment where a daily open items list may change based upon the needs of management.
Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and the ability to thrive in a deadline oriented atmosphere.
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to work both independently and with peers.
Ability to develop and train staff
Excellent PC skills, particularly with MS Office and Intermediate level of Excel (function formulas, pivot tables, linked spreadsheets).
PeopleSoft experience a plus.
7-10 years of Accounting experience including general ledger analysis, budgets, forecasting, variance reporting & reconciliation analysis.
3+ years’ of experience leading a team.
Hospitality background a plus.
