**Position**: EJVP Coordinator - Denton (Full-Time Position)

**Location**: Hybrid/Remote - Denton, Texas

**Overview**:

We are seeking a dynamic, self-starting individual with vision, initiative, and a demonstrated commitment to public interest law to join our team as an Equal Justice Volunteer Program (EJVP) paralegal in Denton.

**Description**:

We are a non-profit public interest law firm providing high-quality free civil legal services to low-income individuals across 114 counties in North and West Texas. Based in Denton, our office delivers civil legal services both in the city and in surrounding rural areas.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate volunteer legal clinics and recruit volunteer staff, collaborating with private attorneys, local bar associations, and our internal team.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and organizational policies.
- Implement and manage EJVP efforts within our geographic area.
- Participate in local and remote bar associations' activities and statewide task forces.
- Maintain relationships with local bar associations and individual attorneys, serving as a liaison between these groups and our staff.
- Conduct community legal clinics and recruit pro bono attorneys.
- Handle case management tasks including opening, maintaining, and closing cases in our system.
- Conduct intake by answering client calls, conducting screenings, and creating electronic client files.
- Investigate and develop assigned cases, including conducting interviews.
- Make referrals and provide support to clients as needed.
- Draft legal documents and file pleadings with courts.
- Maintain accurate case records and files.
- Assist with clerical tasks and support other staff members as necessary.
- Conduct orientation sessions for pro bono volunteers.
- Monitor the status of EJVP cases and participate in case selection meetings.
- Travel to remote counties as needed to support EJVP efforts.
- Provide oral reports for staff meetings and participate in training events.
- Design a system to recognize pro bono volunteers' contributions.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding client matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Associate's Degree and paralegal certification preferred.
- 2 years prior law office experience preferred, especially in family law.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfortable speaking in public.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Willingness to occasionally travel for work.
- Flexible work schedule, including evening commitments.

**Salary**: Current entry-level salary is $36,500 per year. Salary may be higher based on experience. Non-exempt employee subject to state and federal wage and hour laws.
