Job description

1 Resource Group is currently seeking an IE Technician to support our Maintenance Team based at our Baytown site in Texas. This is a onetime opportunity to set up, install and commission the whole business from the ground up. This role will be reporting directly to the Site Manager and will interact with all departments across the business. Work will be a mixture of reactive and planned tasks prioritised by the Site Manager / Shift Managers and Planning Department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Experience and proficiency in trouble shooting, installation, maintenance, repair and testing of:

o Power distribution equipment, 4160V, 480V, 240V, 208V,120V, Note : Experience with 13.8 kV equipment - is a plus

o Power transformers, unit substations, MCC’s

o MV and LV Switchgear

o Variable Speed Dives, VFD's

o Power and lighting panel boards

o Analog and digital control loops, 24 Vdc

o PLC's and HMI screens

o Modulating control and actuated isolation valves

o Various instruments and control devices, i.e. transmitters, switches, etc.

o Use of tools, i.e., Meggers, multi-meters and other related test equipment

· Accurate completion of repair handover to Production Management Team.

· Reports in delays in repair to Shift Management team.

· Completion of breakdown tasks in a timely manner aiming to minimize downtime.

EXPERIENCE

· Qualified, Experienced IE Technician

· Electrical – High school or Trade Certificate in Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering

· Maintenance and Repair on all electrically driven equipment in the facilities

· Installation, Maintenance and Repair to all HVAC system

· Calibration and Maintenance of Plant and Platform instrumentation

· Maintain and repair all commercial equipment

· Repair and maintenance of plant machinery and other equipment

· Maintenance and repair to Gas Analysis & Lab equipment

· Experience in masterbatch, plastics or rubber production desirable.

· Experienced at interpreting electrical / mechanical drawings and technical specifications.

· Basic computer literacy, as well as experience of using CMMS software desirable.

· Good communicator across shifts within Engineering team and with Shift managers / Process Operators.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and highly customer focused.

 

 

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

· 5+ years of experience with electrical controls / PLC trouble shooting, programming and repair preferred.

· Demonstrated background of mechanical and electrical aptitude

· Must be able to work on a normal 5-day, 8-hour shift and during plant upsets/shutdowns as needed. Also needs to be available for call outs as needed.

· NCCR Certified
