Perdue AgriBusiness (PAB) is one of the two operating divisions of Perdue Farms. We also operate four soybean processing facilities, an edible oil refinery and specialty feed ingredients manufacturing.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an  FP&A Intern  in  Salisbury, MD.  Perdue's 10-week Summer internship program is designed to combine knowledge learned in the classroom with meaningful, real-world experiences. 

 

The FP&A Intern will deliver timely and accurate reports and analytics for the Financial Planning and Analysis department, supporting the FP&A team and PAB Business groups. These supportive tasks can include: providing detailed financial reconciliations, preparing forecast/budget entries, conducting analytics from disparate sources, producing multiple financial reports and performing ad hoc research requests. 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare supporting documentation for reporting packages that summarize weekly/monthly/quarter/year-end performance. Learn P&L details/drivers and how to explain key variances.
• Provide timely and accurate support to the FP&A team for forecast, budget and 5 year Planning activities. Learn the process for building our budgets and how to report against them. 
• Support tracking of financial performance for key strategic initiatives and projects, utilizing existing tools and learning to develop new tools. 
• Complete ad hoc report generation and special projects as requested. 
• Develop skills and attributes necessary for future career development 

 

Minimum Education

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at an accredited university in a relevant field of study
• 3.0 GPA or higher; 3.25 GPA or higher is highly preferred

Experience Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Must be able to work independently or in teams
• Some positions may require travel to other facilities

Experience Preferred

• Customer Service mindset and ability to work with internal "clients" around the company 
• Ability to cope with pressure and changing priorities with a focus on delivering results

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
